Bespoke Development

Bespoke Development

What is the value of seamless integration? How would your system operate with proper integration between legacy platforms and new technology? Is there actually value in passing information directly from system to system without staff manually retyping from screen to screen? These are just some of the questions we ask, or at least should ask, before we embark on implementing a new solution.

The value of bespoke development is not with fixing that which is broken, but with building flexible bridges from unsupported legacy platforms to newer investments; creating small functional extensions which can significantly improve user experience or interaction; and data manipulation involving exporting or importing either in house or externally.

With cost seemingly edging its way back ahead of return on investment for the small to medium sized business, many clients are not even prepared to take the risk of a large investment which could lead to a large return. Post GFC screws have been tightened and even low risk projects have been shunned in favour of keeping more money in the bank.

While this is not necessarily a negative response, it is not one which can be maintained for a long period of time. Companies who do not invest for the long term will be left behind, but while most are in shut down mode, there are still gains to be made. So we are not looking strategically, but there are always tactical projects which need assistance, and day to day operations and processes can always be improved.

Of course, this is where Documation come in. Most well-known, and hence why they are well-known, Content Management systems are built on a very robust platform that can handle a variety of inputs and stresses caused by other players within the infrastructure. Because of this robustness, we can generally expand your Content Management system to cover any areas you are lacking in your business, even more so if we can undertake a health check beforehand.

From small tweaks like a script to automate a specific process or a configuration change to a large scale project change where you need to customise your content management system to be more appropriate for your organisation, bespoke development is almost always required.

The difference with Documation; we won't leave you with a broken system and we will document our work. We have completed many successful engagements customising content management systems to provide exactly what the customer needs, and are not planning on stopping any time soon.
